i made this dress in just a couple hours! which is really exciting for me because i usually take forever to do…anything. i used the basic pattern from other dresses i have made, and was just experimenting with the fabric for the top of the dress. i knew i wanted it to have volume and a fair amount of fabric, but i was not sure how i was going to do it. the first cut i made ended up working out though! it helps that i used a really soft jersey material so it folds and lays well.

i like the versatility in the top of the dress and how it is possible to have several different looks just by moving the fabric around.
